Real life weddings of the week!

Ok so I can’t even get over how much I love this wedding as featured on Southern weddings (Part one and part two). First of all the photography by Jodi Miller is amazing, it captures so beautifully the vivid colours the couple have incorporated throughout the day. I know I have featured so many photos but seriously, how can you choose. I love their use of felt pom poms and their stationary choices such as their escort cards are amazing. My favourite colour is teal so I adore their table layout, I think if I was having a long table layout I would def have had to feature a chevron table runner!

What a cute wedding! 100 layer cake feature this adorable wedding which has touches of pink and teal (my own wedding colour scheme) and the most dapper groom! Another amazing escort card idea featured and their ribbon ceiling looks sensational! I WANT THOSE TEAL CHAIRS!!!

You know me; I’m a pastel lover so this Ruffled wedding is right up my alley. As well as some rather cute details their stationary is just incredible! Their stationary was actually designed by the bride’s brother who also designed their puzzle guest book, can I adopt him?

I love the Mexican theme, I love colour this style me pretty wedding is just full of those very details I adore. Their beach ceremony set up is just beautiful and their candlelit reception venue is stunning mixing both vividness and prettiness.

Oh wow have you ever seen a backdrop like that? This Green Wedding Shoes couple showed exactly that paper + creativity = true beauty! I also love their scattering of flowers and their macaron wedding cake which is just a total amalgamation of my favourite things.

Carnival is becoming an increasingly popular theme and this wedding from 100 layer cake achieves it so well. The couple have even managed to have their ceremony pictures look so fun and their stationary is immense! They have all the little details I appreciate such as straws and cute napkins and their wedding is by a pool= perfect!

In a similar vain to the carnival wedding is the circus theme. I fell in love with this couples styling, as seen on Green Wedding Shoes. Their use of umbrellas in the decor is so creative and unique and I love their choice of carnival posters.

Milton Keynes Vintage fair

So on Sunday I headed out to Milton Keynes first vintage fair! I was so pleased to have some vintage styling come to my hometown. I’m afraid I didn’t get any pics due to a very late bridesmaid (she’s forgiven though haha) meaning we got there with only an hour left so we had to do a bit of a rush around!

It was held at Cruck Barn in Bradwell Abbey which was a really nice space; it had gorgeous exposed beams and was really easy to get too.

When we walked in the Sasaparillas were playing and I have to say I really loved them. They were a 1940s harmony group and I really adored their vintage styling and their voices were gorgeous.

One supplier I had a good look into was knots and kisses wedding stationary. Their designs were just gorgeous and there was one design which would really fit perfectly into the wedding, we’re currently waiting on a quote back! They were so friendly; I can imagine the process would be very easy with these ladies in charge. I managed to get my Mum a mother’s day card as well!

Village green soaps were also exhibiting at the fair; they had a lovely selection of soaps which can be given away as favours to wedding guests. There was one AMAZING smelling one which smelt of Turkish delight although I actually think it was labelled as rose and something haha.

Nevie Pie cakes
As always when I go to these fairs I’m always totally drawn in by the cakes. We’ve made our cake choice however it doesn’t stop me from drooling. 2 suppliers that caught my eye were Angelina cupcake which had a cupcake in a vintage teacup which I LOVED and Nevie Pie cakes which were beyond amazing. The cakes were HAND PAINTED and just looked sensational, a real piece of art!

We had a good chat with the lady from The Sophisticated Touch which supply chair covers. She was so enthusiastic about the chair covers design and I loved one design which was so original and that was a bunting chair design! It looked amazing and she was so adorable herself!

One of my all time favourite suppliers was at the fair as well, the one and only Vicky Trainor. She had a range of her gorgeous products on display and it was all I could do to stop myself from buying up the whole stand.

One very pretty stand that caught my eye was from Polkadot of Winslow which sells handmade and vintage items, it was just so sweet! They have all kinds of little knick knacks perfect for wedding favours and decor.

Before we left we enjoyed some ice cream from Mrs Scoops (one of the lovely ladies responsible for putting the fair together along with mylittlemiss G ). The hardest part of the whole day was choosing what flavour to go for. In the end I chose a mint choc chip while my bridesmaid had a chocolate but there were some really gorgeous sounding flavours like elderflower and champagne! Having an inside winter wedding it’s the vintage ice cream van I feel I’ve really missed out on, if we were having a summer wedding I know Mrs Scoops would be top of my list of suppliers!

I hope this isn’t the last time that a vintage fair visits Milton Keynes!

Sunday catch up

I have been working soooo much this week!! I’ve been working full time hours while still at uni (and trying to get a serious start on the dissertation) and on Monday I had my training for my new hospital job. As part of the training I had to have a blood test (to check what I’m immunised against) and they had to tap multiple veins because I have such low blood pressure, nightmare!

As well as the work I found time to have a date night with the boy :D We went to see Woman in Black which was really good. We’ve seen the play a few times and the film cannot compare yet we did enjoy it.

My brother came up to visit with a friend as well. I booked him a bungee jump because I’m such a good sister! He was slighty nervous in the day but he did well haha.

We went out for Italian that night as well at the most amazing restaurant in Manchester, Puccini’s. We went out that night as well and ended up bumping into some school friends from Milton Keynes, it was random but lovely!

What’s the best way to deal with a hangover? Brunch! I had the most gorgeous French toast accompanied by a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. It really was the best start to the day!

Hope everyone had a lovely week :D

Etsy shop of the week: Door County Woodworks

$110/ £71.23

A wedding card holder is one of the little details of the wedding I struggled with. I love the whole vintage suitcase and post-box idea but I’m keeping an eye out for a pretty box or something. These wedding card boxes from DoorCountyWoodworks are frikkin amazing and would make SUCH an amazing decorative piece. I think it would really grab the guest’s attention, it’s personalised and afterwards you could have it in your home or in your garden. They give you an interchangeable roof, one with a slot for cards and one with a solid roof. Literally the best thing ever!

Wedding DIY: Table signs

We’re having a slight chalkboard theme to the wedding, what with the chalkboard skulls and a friend brought me a cute chalkboard heart last year which hangs in our kitchen (you can actually see it in the background of the photo!) but will be used for wedding decor. I’m going to use it as a sign for something but I’m going to need some more signs for the guest table and dessert table etc.

I brought some black chalkboard paint a while back and I’ve been on the lookout for some lovely frames ever since. Then last week I went into Urban outfitters and they had these gorgeous frames, 2 for £10! I took out the glass and spray painted it with the chalkboard paint and now they are the perfect signs for our tables!
