Sunday catch up

Every good night starts with a fishbowl!

Hey everyone!

Wow this week has been crazy for me in terms of work, I’m working 18 hour shifts most days so I’ve been pretty much living as a zombie all week. I was a bit shocked when I weighed myself and discovered I had dropped 5 pounds simply from not having time to eat! I've had to now start carrying about chocolate bars in the car hehe. I worked all last weekend too so I have today off and I’m so excited!

Out celebrating: (L-R) Amanda, Sarah, Me, Beth, Rachel

The boys too! (L-R) Matt, The boy, Lee

I worked yesterday until 7pm so I got home and got myself ready for a night out with my friends. It’s my birthday on Wednesday so I was celebrating my birthday this weekend, my last birthday as a single woman!

The only full length picture of me in the dress i could really find

I just loved my dress. I saw it on Fearne cotton on Sport relief months ago and couldn't stop talking to the boy the whole time about how it was so perfect, it has everything I love in a dress. There’s lace, a peter pan collar, a poufy skirt and a bright colour. Then I met up with a friend for shopping and again I was telling her all about this perfect dress I’d seen and how I needed it so much. Then we walked into Topshop and it was in there, it’s by Jones and Jones, and I had to buy it!

Despite not getting time to eat I have read a book this week (you can see my priorities there haha) and it was Room by Emma Donoghue.

 Here’s the blurb:
Jack is five. He lives with his Ma. They live in a single, locked room. They don't have the key. Jack and Ma are prisoners.

The book was inspired by the Josef Fritzl case which makes it quite an eerie book because it seems so totally fictitious but then it hits you that actually, someone did live like this. It was a really intriguing story and I was hooked from the first page. It’s also written from the voice of Jack which makes it so heart warming, I would absolutely recommend this book!

Anyway I’m only working 2 days next week because the birthday celebrations are due to continue so look forward to a rather heavy catch up post next week haha!
