Balcony inspiration

I recently spoke about how we’ve planted some seeds on our balcony. Our balcony is quite boring, we’ve got a cheapy table and chairs, our planters and a little gnome which I inherited off my Nan. I suppose we’ve never put much thought into it because the weather doesn’t give us much chance to use it (it took us two years of living here before we even brought the table and chairs!) however I’ve decided I want a pretty balcony! It can be quite tough because whatever we put out there has to be waterproof, affordable and we do have space limitations but

I’ve been looking up some inspiration recently:

Unfortunately I'm not sure rugs are great for British balconies  so here are some things I want to buy:

£9.99 at Argos

A pretty planter! I love these tea cups and they come in a few cute patterns.

We never want to sit out on the balcony because the chairs aren’t that comfy and I know we could buy cushions but we would just constantly be taking them in and out again. Maybe these folding picnic chairs would be a bit more comfortable?

£30 at Ikea

Instead of having a circular balcony table I do like the idea of a recentagular one facing outwards over the park (inspired by the forth balcony inspiration picture). It would make it a lot easier to have some space to eat out there as well.

£12.99 at Ikea

Solar fairy lights! These could be a pretty way to bring some decoration to our balcony. Quite a few people have fairy lights on our block and I totally forgot about solar power so really had no idea how they’d done it!

I’m hoping by the time summer rolls around again our balcony will be totally different and ready for cocktails and picnics! Just hope the weather is ready too!

  1. Some great inspirational ideas here, I especially like the fairy lights, something I've never considered, but first my balcony would need a serious overhaul
