Beautiful brides

I keep finding brides which are just magnificent and i ADORE their dresses, i'm there staring at the screen so i can't imagine what their lucky husbands thought when they saw them walking down the aisle! I'm obsessed with the above dress, that scalloped edging is just to die for! The above photos are from Elizabeth Anne Designs.

Ok so this bride works at Net-a-porter so i hate her already (that's the jealousy speaking!).  Her hair is just gorgeous and she even wore chains braided into her hair! Her dress was Temperley and her groom wore Alexander McQueen so i've got a style crush on him too! Just a totally gorgeous couple at Rock my Wedding.

I love burlesque and this bride is sooo beautiful, the dress is huge! This June Bug wedding also had burlesque dancers as entertainment, a girl can dream (and the guy too for that matter!)

I went from a big dress to a much smaller one but this 100 layer cake bride is just so elegant and cute in her choice and it fits perfectly with her lakeside wedding. I love polka dot tulle, just gorgeous!

because the bride is so frikkin rock n roll and gorgeous i just can't bear it! Rock N Roll Bride presents this amazing wedding.

2 brides for the price of 1. I just adore both outfits, such an incredible dress, i adore the keyhole detail and the colour of the suit is just stunning, loving that feather detail as well! This gorgeous wedding can be found at Boho weddings.

This bride just looks so adorable, seriously cute and SO unique. I love these pictures of her first look with her dad, an AMAZING idea, one i am unfortunately too impatient for as i can't wait to show my dad my dress when i visit home next week! This gorgeous bride can be found at Green Wedding shoes.

Who does this remind me of?

Sometimes i see some wedding inspiration that i fall in love with because it reminds me of a loved one. I store it in my favourites vowing to use it as inspiration for a dinner or birthday party with that person whenever i get the chance! Heres some of my favourites....

My Nan loved gnomes, god knows why. She once had a whole garden FULL of them until they got to weathered that she had to cut it down to just a few. When she passed away this year we joked about how instead of a rememberance bench in her nursing homes garden we needed a gnome and i have a little gnome on my balcony now in her remembarance so this Tradewinds and Tiaras dessert table as featured on the Amy Atlas blog stole my heart.

Last year i went to Spain to visit my friend who was studying at the university of Valencia. We ate SO much tapas when we were there and whenever we meet up back home we always try to have some tapas, i even buy her tapas themed birthday presents so when i saw this Mi Cesta De Mimbre dessert table on Amy Atlas it reminded me of my friend.

My Mum loves horses, she used to ride them when she was younger and throughout her adult life has ridden them on and off so this shoot reminded me straight away of my mum. This can be found on Inspired Bride.

One of my friends and I LOVE monkeys, we pretty much spend every time we are together visiting zoos and every single time we see some amusing monkey piece of news we always post it to each others facebook wall so this Amy Atlas post is something i would love to use for inspiration for a future birthday!

Sunday catch up

Hello All!

So this week has been HECTIC! I now work from 8am- 10pm and i've got my uni deadlines coming up and there is of course the blog. I'm not complaining though, i need the money! Yesterday i took time to visit the Xmas market with the boy and some friends, I'm so exited for Christmas!

Last year Christmas wasn't a great one, my Nan was in hospital and actually had an operation on Christmas Eve so last year seemed to pass without celebration but i'm making up for it this year. We've been in our apartment 3 years and this is the first year we are getting decorations and i intend to spend many an hour at the Christmas markets!

Today the boy is working. He works EVERY single day now (even weekends) so i'm cooking him a lovely meal for when he's back.

So have you caught up with everything from the blog?
I'm really excited about posts coming up on the blog soon. I can't wait!

Etsy shops of the week: Marilyn Monroe

Thanks to the 'My week with Marilyn' film Marilyn Monroe is back to being the name on everyone's lips. I decided to browse Etsy and here are a few of my fave Marilyn finds.

I love this magazine purse by Purseonal style which is fun and cute.

I think this would look rather fab in the boudoir! By Namedesignstudio.

The Rekindled Page has lots of vintage art prints featuring Marilyn, i really love this style of art.

I've previously declared my love for Fable and Fury and they haven't let me down with this gorgeous Marilyn necklace.

Something VERY unusual from Firstlightglass, a wine bottle Marilyn Monroe cheese board! Haha.

and for all your Marilyn dress replica wishes head over to Morningstar84 which has a large collection of replica vintage dresses.

DIY DIVA: My dinner party (2)

I'm being a bit of a hostess recently as i hosted another dinner party this week! This was a lovely sit down dinner for one of my bridesmaids and her boyfriend before we went out to see a comedian.

As it was a sit down dinner i was able to do something i couldn't do at my last dinner party and make place cards. I headed over to Wedding Chicks and printed off an escort card for each of my guests, you can leave the table number bit empty and i printed it so that each guest had their initial in the monogram. I then cut these into circles, which was done by drawing round the top of a wine glass, and backed them onto paper doilies using my trusty craft glue dots.

I decided to reuse my amazing ruffled banner because it was so cute and got so many comments last time. I think i'm going to make one that i can keep up constantly, its so pretty!

I printed out my menus (in case you can't read it properly i did asparagus and mascarpone tartlets, Minced filo tarts, Chorizo chicken with pesto spaghetti and raspberry iced mousse which was all very yummy) and i backed them onto bigger doilies using the same method as the place names.

I always have to make a cocktail when people come around, its my fave thing and i created a little label for my pitcher from Project wedding. The printable is actually for drink stirrers but i just printed one out and stuck it to my pitcher with, yes you guessed it, glue dots!

As a bit of a centrepiece for the table i made a pom pom because i've been wanting to have a bit of a practise with them and this one turned out really well! I followed the tutorial at wedding sparrow and my guests were most impressed.

For each guest i made them a little individual drink stirrer with their initial on, they were cute but also handy for ensuring the drinks didn't get mixed up! I adapted this DIY from a Bijoux Bride tutorial and print out for mini bunting.  Instead of tying them onto string i just stuck them onto a wooden skewer, its a great print out though and there are colour options!

I have to say my success of the dinner party were my asparagus and mascarpone tartlets, super yummy!!!

Alice in wonderland dessert table

I make daily visits to the pages of the Amy Atlas blog as long time readers may know by the vast amount of dessert tables i like to blog about. This AMAZING table featured on the blog from Beyond Desserts and was for a 2 years old birthday party. Some kids have all the fun huh?

And while an Alice in Wonderland theme can be amazingly kitsch and colourful this following shoot, as featured on Style Me Pretty, shows you can also execute it in a rather elegant and glamorous way as well.

I'm an Etsy browser, i can spend hours looking with nothing in mind but i find such treasures, such as this newspaper dress from Posh Fairy Tale Couture! It totally reminded me of something you would find in Alice In Wonderland. I adore!
