My week in pics and monet pirate star sewing deadly inspiration!

Ok so last week i had no catch up because it was my birthday! Now i had about 5 days worth of celebrations, i'll know i'm turning old when i just do one thing!

My parents came to stay with me for 3 days which was lovely, last time they visited was about a year ago. We went over to the quays and had lunch before i took them around Media city which is where the BBC is relocating and then some shopping. Afterwards back to ours when i cooked a tapas feast (fast becoming my speciality) and we played wii. I tried to get the family on singstar with me, NO ONE wanted to join me!

My mum and I at the Cavern club
The next morning we were up bright and early for Liverpool. We visited Albert Docks and the Cavern Club (famous for its association to the Beatles). It was absolutely heaving in the city centre because it was gay pride but such a great atmosphere!

Me and my birthday cocktail!
Afternoon tea for two!
We went for afternoon tea and cocktails at 'Hard days night' hotel. In the evening we went dog racing and i did quite well, ended up the whole night including food, entry and drink cost me £3 so i consider that a big success! Next morning the parents were off after i cooked them a big fry up.

Lyme park
Me in me wellies!
We hiked up to this building in the hills. As we were walking a pocket of sunshine came through the clouds and made for a fantastic photo!
On the Monday, my actual birthday, we visited Lyme Park, which is a national trust park and absolutely beautiful. We were really lucky with the weather. We got in the car and for the 40 minute journey it rained the WHOLE way, it stopped the minute we pulled up and resumed after we were driving home a few hours later. While at Lyme park we stopped for lunch where i had scones the size of my head, i took soooo many photos. Dont you just love my wellies?

My birthday tends to revolve around how many cocktails i can have

Then the boy and I went out for cocktails at the most gorgeous bar called Obsidian back in Manchester. I had a lovely berry concoction while the boy had some tropical cocktail that arrived on fire, always impressive haha.

My birthday celebrations ended with a lovely Italian with a few friends. Its our favourite place, its where both Manchester United and the England team eat all the time, in fact when we were in there a footballer came in. I had no idea who he was but the boys went all giddy haha. I ate sooo much. After promising myself i would only have 2 courses and a soft drink i ended up having 3 courses and lots of wine and then the restaurant presented me with a birthday profiterole as well!

READ AHEAD FOR ALL THE INSPIRATION!

From a birthday profiterole to a whole heap of desserts! Ok so i'm getting a little obsessed with the Amy Atlas blog, maybe i need to start a feature called 'my dessert table of the week' but i'm not sure i could narrow them down! Of course my favourite this week is the pirate one, i love how they turned the table into a ship. I suggest you check out the feature because there are some really cute touches like bottles as name tags and gumballs in little chests! The superhero table drew me in with those primary colour macarons! I'm just such a macaron fan and doesnt the cake look amazing?! A reason to check out the feature: a rainbow jelly (or jello for you American visitors) tower! The ruffled one is just so pretty, love the pastel shades and the ruffled background is amazing, would make a great photobooth or ceremony backdrop.

I may have mentioned before that i have a soft spot for hot air balloon themes. For Christmas 18 or so months ago thats what the boy got me and our champagne balloon flight was one of the most romantic things we've ever done. So i adore this shoot and i love how quirky and colourful its taken the theme. The full shoot can be seen at la belle bride.

The 7 deadly sins is a great theme for any kind of shoot but a rock the frock one is amazing. I adore the colour of Rachel's hair as well, it looks gorgeous against the feather fan. This is after her husband Dale had literally ripped the dress off her! Wow! See all 7 sins at boho weddings.

I just love all the colour used in this shoot. When you read 'sewing themed' it doesnt exactly sound exciting, does it? yet this is unique and fun and so adorable! I love the floral mannequin used and the bride purple skirt is too cute. This shoot is over at love and lavender.

I love elopement shoots. I could never do an elopement myself, i want my fam there too much but they do always look so romantic and intimate. This is such a perfectly styled shoot with some great vintage touches. All can be found at ruffled.

I love that shade of blue, its seems all mysterious and deep. This is another feature i seem to be talking about on a weekly basis 'children;s birthday parties i'm insanely jealous of'. I mean i would actually sacrifice birthday cocktails for this! This can be seen at love the day.

Its nice to see a picture in the last week that shows London to be a beautiful place. This engagement shoot is so cute and sunny, it makes me feel sunny. There are some adorable props used throughout, including candy floss! This can be seen at London Bride.

This shoot took its inspiration from Monet's water garden and its stunning, i love the shades they've used and the venue used seems so cute and idyllic. This beautiful shoot can be seen at elizabeth anne designs.
